Several products are home-made.
We recommend:
- A piece of home-made bread with some of our home-made jam
- A breakfast roll from Ribe’s best bakery (where the locals queue up every Sunday morning)
- Our delicious homemade and organic muesli
- Juice, milk, coffee or a cup of our Wadden Sea tea (Invented by the hostel and the famous Danish Tea House “Carstensen’s Tea House”
- You’ll find fresh fruit and a variety of meat and cheese on the morning buffet
The hostel’s has received a Green Key certification and has to prove to the Green Key inspector how much organic food is used every quarter through the accounts.
Honey and our homemade müesli are organic and so are more products, but as we cannot guarantee it is always the same products that are organic, you have to look for the organic labels (Danish Ø or European Leaf) or ask us

Lunch and dinner are usually only served for groups and meetings, but ask - maybe we serve the day you visit us.
